MHOA’s tobacco program seeks youth for compliance checks

Know a Brockton area youth who is 16 to 20 years old? MHOA’s tobacco program seeks youth for compliance checks. Youth work closely with an adult supervisor to purchase tobacco products in retail establishments such as grocery stores and gas stations. If a youth buyer successfully purchases tobacco, the adult supervisor later returns to cite the store for violating underage buyer laws. Youth buyers are paid $18/hour, and training and transportation is provided. Work is part-time, and sporadic. Checks are scheduled at the convenience of youth and adult supervisor schedules. Compliance checks are an important part of tobacco prevention programs statewide.
